The Skill-Based Competition at ISTE National Annual Convention & Yuva Kaushal Utsav 2025 | Celebrates Innovation, Creativity, and Hands-on Expertise

The ISTE National Annual Convention and Yuva Kaushal Utsav 2025, held on February 13-14 at Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU) in Punjab, marked a significant milestone in India’s journey toward becoming a global skill capital. This inaugural event brought together policymakers, academic leaders, industry experts, faculty, and students for a dynamic exchange of ideas and innovations aimed at transforming the nation’s education system. 

A central feature of the convention was the array of skill-based competitions designed to showcase and enhance the practical abilities of participants. These competitions spanned various domains, including:

• Chasse aux Talents (Open Mic): A platform for participants to exhibit their artistic and oratory skills.

• Carving Competition: A contest emphasizing creativity and precision in material carving.

• No Fire Cooking Competition: Encouraging culinary innovation without the use of fire.

• Sustainable Business Development Model: Promoting entrepreneurial ideas centered on sustainability.

• Shark Tank: Investment Pitch Idea: Simulating real-world investment pitching scenarios.

• Web Weavers: Focusing on web development and design skills.

• Blind Coding (IBM): Testing coding proficiency without visual aids.

• Lathe Strife: Demonstrating expertise in lathe machine operations.

• Plumbing Knack: Showcasing skills in plumbing techniques and problem-solving.

These competitions provided a platform for participants to demonstrate their competencies, fostering a spirit of innovation and practical learning.

In addition to the competitions, the convention featured keynote sessions, conclaves for vice-chancellors, faculty, students, and principals, as well as exhibitions of projects, industry innovations, and publications. A grand cultural evening celebrated India’s rich diversity, further enriching the experience for attendees. 

The event also marked the inauguration of the Centre for Future Skills, underscoring LTSU’s commitment to aligning education with evolving industry demands. 

Overall, the ISTE National Annual Convention and Yuva Kaushal Utsav 2025 served as a catalyst for discussions and initiatives aimed at equipping India’s youth with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
