What is Lathe Strife?
Lathe Strife is a competitive machining event where participants perform lathe operations based on drawings provided on the spot. The competition evaluates:
- Dimensional accuracy
- Machining precision

- Overall workmanship
Participants are required to complete the task within a fixed time while strictly following workshop rules and safety protocols.
Rules and Competition Guidelines
- Five participants can operate on one machine at a time (batch-wise).
- Drawing details will be provided at the venue.
- Each participant will be given 30 minutes to complete the task.
- Unsafe practices will result in immediate disqualification.
- Negative marking will apply for rule violations.
- Judges’ decisions will be final and binding.
- In case of a tie, a speed and precision test will be conducted.
Strict discipline and safety awareness are mandatory throughout the competition.
