IBM has collaborated with LTSU to identify and showcase creative ideas of students, and recognize and reward their knowledge and awareness of various trends in Emerging Technologies and how they can be applied for solving society’s challenges
Categories:
- UNIQUE CONCEPT POSTER COMPETITION
- INNOVATIVE PROJECT PRESENTATION COMPETITION
Eligibility Criteria:
- The participant can participate in only one of the categories.
- Undergraduate/graduate students can participate.
- Open to all aspiring students of Punjab.
- Institutional participation is encouraged.
- Maximum 15 students can participate from one institution
UNIQUE CONCEPT POSTER COMPETITION
Topic:
Using any applications or technologies to solve any ONE critical problem of the society.
Guidelines:
Size of the poster: 2 ft. * 3 ft. To be pasted on a wall/any other suitable location at a height which allows easy visibility and reading. There should be reasonable distance between each team poster.
o On the Top of the Poster: Left Hand Side: IBM Logo; On the Right-Hand Side: Institute Logo. (Please take care to use exact IBM logo)
o Poster should be thematic, visually appealing, and should explain all aspects of the topic (preferably in pictorial form; use of text should be just adequate and not too much) and all team posters should be pasted on the wall/suitable location.
o Each team should be of 5 students ONLY and all team members should be present.
o Each team will be given 10 minutes to present their topic. Each topic should be presented by any one team (to be chosen by the judges)
o The judges can ask any team member to make the presentation-hence all team members should be equally prepared to represent their teams in front of the judges.
Each team will be given points on the following criteria
- Quality and uniqueness of the ‘visual appeal’ of the poster.
- Quality, depth, correctness and uniqueness of the content of the topic presented.
- Applied aspect of the topic explained with real life examples and cases.
- Quality and depth of team work and team knowledge.
- All teams are expected to present their topics without any mentoring and tutoring by the teachers.
Judgement Criteria:
• Relevance to society.
• Originality.
• Artistic composition.
• Creativity.
• Message conveyed by the Unique Concept.
• Effectiveness in communicating the intended Concept.
INNOVATIVE PROJECT PRESENTATION COMPETITION
Topic:
There is absolutely no restriction on the kind of project to be presented by the team, provided it is innovative, original and addresses one of the challenges faced by the society.
Guidelines:
o Proof of Concept of the Project should be displayed by the team.
o Team should explain all aspects of the project
o Each team should be of 5 students ONLY and all team members should be present.
o Each team will be given 10 minutes to present their project. The project should be presented by any one team (to be chosen by the judges)
o The judges can ask any team member to make the presentation – hence all team members should be equally prepared to represent their teams in front of the judges.
o Each team will be judged on the following criteria:
- Quality and uniqueness of the project.
- Quality, depth, correctness and uniqueness of the content of the project presented.
- Applied aspects of the project explained with real life examples and cases.
- Quality and depth of team work and team knowledge.
- All teams are expected to present the project without any mentoring and tutoring by the teachers.
