On September 30, 2024, the University School of Allied Health Sciences hosted a meaningful event for World Heart Day, aimed at spreading awareness on cardiovascular health. Pro Vice-Chancellor of LTSU, Dr. Parvinder Kaur, emphasized the importance of this day to spark conversations around adopting healthier lifestyles. She stressed that early prevention and awareness are key to combating cardiovascular diseases, which remain one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide.
Registrar Dr. Rajiv Mahajan and Dr. J. S. Arora, ED & DAA, echoed the growing concern over heart-related diseases, calling on individuals, healthcare professionals, and institutions to take responsibility for promoting heart-healthy practices.
Dean Dr. Shyamal Koley applauded the collective efforts, stating, "World Heart Day is not just about awareness for a day, but about creating long-term behavioral change."
Special lectures by Ms. Nahida Bilal, Ms. Fahmia Feroz, and Ms. Mitali Kar were well-received, and the enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty made the event a success!
