Industrial Visit to Vardhman Auro Mills, Baddi
The University School of Commerce and Management (USCM) organized an enriching industrial visit for its MBA, BBA, and B.Com students to Vardhman Auro Mills in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The visit aimed to offer students valuable insights into the textile industry, blending theoretical knowledge with practical exposure.
The group departed from the campus at 10:00 AM and reached Vardhman Auro Mills by 12:00 PM, where they were warmly welcomed by the Industrial Relations team led by Mr. Anil Kumar. Mr. Kumar began the session with a presentation on the history and growth of Vardhman Auro Mills, as well as their future goals. During the session, students were also encouraged to explore internships, which are essential for gaining practical industry experience.
The students were given a virtual tour of the company before proceeding to a hands-on visit to the production area. The group was divided into three smaller teams; each guided by faculty and industry experts, to observe the transformation of raw cotton into fine threads and, ultimately, finished textile products. Students gained insight into every step of the production process, including the molding of cotton into thick ropes, dyeing, and refining of threads, and concluding with a visit to the packaging area, where logistics and transportation operations were explained.
The visit culminated in an informative session on industry expectations and skill development, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the practical skills required to excel in the industry.
The group returned to campus by 3:30 PM, marking the end of a successful and educational outing. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect classroom theories with real-world industrial practices, particularly in the textile sector.
USCM extends its gratitude to Vardhman Auro Mills for their warm hospitality and for providing an exceptional learning experience for the students.
