Finance Club Activity: Money Buddies
On October 16, 2024, the Finance Club "Money Buddies" of the University School of Commerce and Management (USCM) organized a series of engaging activities aimed at enhancing students' understanding of financial management, investment strategies, and overall financial awareness. The event was designed to provide students with practical exposure to finance and investment practices common in the industry.
The day began with a series of financial games that were crafted to challenge participants' financial knowledge and decision-making skills. The games, titled "Number Ninjas," "Words On Board," and "Risky Ball," tested participants on different aspects of finance, encouraging them to think critically and apply risk management strategies. Through these games, students learned valuable lessons, including the concept that higher risks often lead to higher rewards.
Following the games, a skit was performed based on the Sahara scam, one of India's most significant financial scandals. The skit offered a creative and informative way for students to learn about the ramifications of financial fraud and the importance of ethical practices in finance. The participants’ performances demonstrated their understanding of the complexities of the financial world while providing an engaging portrayal of the incident.
The event concluded with a Nukkad Natak (Street Play) that explored the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the financial sector. This performance highlighted the growing influence of AI in transforming the financial landscape, emphasizing both the opportunities and challenges it presents. The natak illustrated how AI is shaping the future of finance, from streamlining operations to influencing decision-making processes.
Throughout the event, participants were judged on their knowledge, intelligence, and quick thinking. Their ability to showcase these skills, particularly in the skit and nukkad natak, was a testament to their talent and understanding of financial concepts. The students thoroughly enjoyed the event, gaining insights into the world of finance in an interactive and enjoyable manner.
The event was attended by Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Dean of USCM, who shared inspiring words with the students, encouraging them to actively participate in such initiatives to develop their skills and shine in their academic and professional lives. His unwavering support, along with the backing of Dr. Vikramjit Kaur, Deputy Dean of USCM, contributed to the success of the event.
Overall, the activities proved to be an informative and enriching experience for all participants, fostering financial literacy and personal growth among the students.
