BLOOD DONATION CAMP
The NSS Unit of Rayat College of Law, in collaboration with the NSS Unit LTSU Punjab, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 18th February 2025 at the Education Department Hall. This noble initiative was sponsored by the Rotary Club, Rupnagar Central, and the blood donation was conducted by the Blood Bank, Civil Hospital, Rupnagar. The camp started at 9:30 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries. Dr. Parvinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, LTSU Punjab, attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Tarsem Singh, Civil Surgeon, Rupnagar, was present as the Guest of Honour. Other esteemed guests included Dr. Rajive Mahajan, Registrar, LTSU, Dr. Jagdeep Kaur, Pro Vice-Chancellor, LTSU, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Dean, LTSU, Dr. Mahender Singh, Vice Principal, Rayat College of Law, Mrs. Ratan Kaur, NSS Unit Coordinator, LTSU, and Mr. Kultar Singh, President, Rotary Club, Ropar Central. Faculty members and students of Rayat College of Law also actively participated in the event.
Dr. Parvinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, LTSU Punjab appreciated the efforts of both NSS units and encouraged students to participate in such life-saving initiatives. Dr. Tarsem Singh, Civil Surgeon, Rupnagar also blessed the students and highly appreciated the event, recognizing the significant impact of voluntary blood donation.
A total of 90 students registered for blood donation. However, after medical screening, only 50 students were found eligible, resulting in the successful collection of 50 units of blood. In addition to the donors, 12 NSS volunteers from Rayat College of Law played an essential role in managing hospital registration and coordination duties, ensuring the smooth execution of the camp. Their dedication and teamwork were commendable.
Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal Rayat College of LAW further acknowledged the contributions of the NSS Unit of Rayat College of Law, with special recognition given to Dr. Sohnu for leading and organizing the event. Mrs. Ratan Kaur, Coordinator of the NSS Unit, LTSU, was also appreciated for her valuable support and coordination. The event highlighted the importance of blood donation and encouraged students to contribute to such humanitarian causes in the future.
