"Anti-Ragging Week 2024: Promoting a Respectful and Supportive Campus Culture"

The University School of Commerce & Management (LTSU) held Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August 2024, focusing on educating newly admitted students about the University’s anti-ragging policies and fostering a respectful and supportive community. The program aimed to introduce students to the channels for reporting and addressing ragging incidents, emphasizing the institution's zero-tolerance policy. Resource persons Dr. Ashutosh Sharma (Dean) and Dr. Vikramjit Kaur (Deputy Dean) led an introductory session that sensitized students to the negative impacts of ragging and detailed the procedures for preventing and addressing such behavior. The term "ragging" was clearly defined, encompassing various forms of harassment such as verbal abuse, physical intimidation, and psychological manipulation.

Throughout the week, various activities were organized, including Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, Speech Competitions, and Skit Performances, all designed to reinforce the anti-ragging message. The Poster Making and Slogan Writing activities featured powerful images and slogans that highlighted the damaging effects of ragging and emphasized the importance of fostering a peaceful academic environment. In the Essay Writing segment, participants explored the psychological, social, and legal aspects of ragging, focusing on proactive measures students can take to promote a positive campus culture. The Speech Competition addressed critical issues of ragging and provided a platform for students to express their views, while the Skit Competition showcased diverse talents and creativity in presenting different aspects of ragging, its consequences, and solutions.

The Anti-Ragging Week was carefully designed to ensure that each activity effectively contributed to the overall goal of reducing and ultimately eliminating ragging within educational institutions. The program succeeded in raising awareness and promoting a safer, more inclusive campus culture.
