The University School of Commerce and Management at Lamrin Tech Skills University, Punjab, organized a seminar on “Insights into the Media Industry & BSmart App by Business Standard” on [Insert Date]. The session was conducted for BBA and B.Com. students and aimed to expose them to the real-world functioning of the media and marketing industry.

The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Sunil Kumar Rakhsit, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the media and marketing sectors. Mr. Rakhsit holds an MBA in Marketing from IMT Ghaziabad. His career includes pivotal roles in leading organizations such as Pepsi (2 years in marketing operations), Hindustan Times (3 years as Zonal Manager), Indian Express (3 years handling operations in Northern India), and more recently, Business Standard, where he has been associated for the past 14 years, currently posted in Chandigarh since May 2024.

Mr. Rakhsit began the session by sharing his career journey and key experiences from the FMCG and media sectors. He then provided students with in-depth insights into the changing landscape of media marketing, digital journalism, and the significance of data-driven business decisions.

A major focus of the session was on the BSmart App by Business Standard, a comprehensive digital platform offering:

  • Company reports and financial analytics
  • Expert editorials and industry insights
  • A user-friendly experience for students and professionals alike

Students learned how such tools are essential for developing business acumen and staying updated with industry trends.
